Thick-knees Of Vietnam – Burhinidae
The Burhinidae family of birds includes the stone-curlews or thick-knees. Thick-knees are wading birds that are known for their large size and distinctive appearance, with long, thin legs and large eyes. They are found in a variety of habitats, including wetlands, grasslands, and coastal areas, and feed on insects, crustaceans, and other small animals.
There are 2 species Thick-knees of Vietnam, such as the Great Thick-knee, which is considered to be threatened or endangered due to habitat loss and other human activities, and their populations are declining. Conservation efforts are underway to help protect these species and their habitats, in order to prevent their extinction
