[7-Day] Southern Vietnam Herping Expedition

A seven-day specialist herping journey across southern Vietnam, moving from lowland forest to streams, ridges and cooler highland habitats, with night field sessions shaped by weather and current conditions.
Cat Tien National Park
Private
Moderate–challenging field pace

Why This Route Works

From lowland forest to highland herping

The route moves through several different elevations and habitat types rather than staying in one forest. The lowland foundation before Di Linh and Da Lat add streams, ridges and cooler highland conditions for a broader herping journey.

Best for

Herpers, macro photographers and naturalists who want repeated night field sessions across different habitats, and who are comfortable with late nights, changing weather and specialist field condition

Keep in mind

Herping is highly weather-dependent. Rainfall, humidity, temperature and recent activity can change where and how long we search each night, so the exact field plan remains flexible.

What We’ll Be Looking For

Herping highlights

Seven days of habitat-led herping across lowland forest, wetlands, streams, laterite ridges and highland forest, with repeated night sessions and slower macro-focused field time.
Reptile and amphibian activity can change quickly with rain, humidity and temperature. No individual species can be guaranteed.
