Why This Route Works

Five signature primates across Vietnam

The route connects accessible conservation landscapes where different primates can be searched for responsibly, from northern limestone islands and karst cliffs to central forests and southern lowland rainforest.

Best for

Primate enthusiasts, wildlife photographers and naturalists who want a dedicated Vietnam journey built around rare langurs, doucs and gibbons rather than general wildlife sightseeing.

Keep in mind

This is a long field journey with early starts, repeated observation sessions and several substantial transfers.

What We’ll Be Looking For

Primate highlights

Five signature primates, five contrasting landscapes — from Cat Ba’s limestone islands to Van Long, Phong Nha, Son Tra and the lowland forests of Cat Tien.

This route deliberately favours places where responsible primate tourism is realistically possible. It does not attempt to include every rare primate in Vietnam simply to extend the species list.
