Day 1 — Ho Chi Minh City → Cat Tien
Into the tropical forest

Leave Ho Chi Minh City in the morning and travel north toward Cat Tien, with a short forest stop along the way for a first introduction to tropical vegetation. After lunch and check-in, follow an easy trail through the forest to some of Cat Tien’s impressive large trees. After dinner, join an open-vehicle night safari to experience the forest after dark.

Start quietly with coffee while listening to the forest at dawn, when gibbons, hornbills and other wildlife may be active. After breakfast, explore by bicycle toward the Heaven’s Rapids area and botanical forest before returning to freshen up, have lunch and travel back to Ho Chi Minh City.
