Can Gio Mangrove Forest field trip be designed for study the Mangrove forest, Can Gio Biosphere Reserve is situated to the south of Ho Chi Minh City, it covers 70.000 ha of the delta region and is wildlife with over 600 species of animals and 300 species of plants.
During the war, the mangroves were a dense hiding place from which to launch attacks on the city, which both the Vietnamese and Americans found extremely difficult to penetrate or patrol. As a result, the Americans dropped a huge among of toxins that damaged the mangroves.
However, now the mangrove is beginning to recover and is protected by the government and international law, and there are efforts to reintroduce much of the wildlife that fled the area.
In
Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve, there are 3 conservation areas for animals, including
Bird Sanctuary, Bat Conservation Area, and Monkey Island.
Itinerary: One-day Can Gio Mangrove Forest field trip
7:00 AM: Pick up from the school then depart to Can Gio Mangrove, we will cross the Binh Khanh ferry on the Sai Gon river to Can Gio district.
9:30-10:15 AM: Collecting flora, soil, and water at sample site 1 and learning about the biodiversity there.
10:40-11:25 AM: Collecting flora, soil, and water at sample site 2 and learning about the biodiversity there.
11:30-12:15 AM: Collecting flora, soil, and water at sample site 3 and learning about the biodiversity there.
12:30-1:30 PM lunch time and resting.
1:30 PM: We drive back to school around 4:00 PM
