Schedule Details

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh - Takou Nr.
Morning: Our expert guide will pick you up from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, and we will embark on a scenic drive to Takou Nature Reserve. Along the way, we will make a stop at Binh Chau Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve for a chance to spot some day-active herps, such as frogs and lizards.
 
After Lunch and check-in at the hotel, we will take a cable car to reach the Takou mountain peak, where we will begin our first herping excursion of the trip. Our guide will lead us to the best spots to search for Takou's unique and diverse herp species until later in the afternoon.
 
Later afternoon, we will take a downhill trek on a small trail to search for herps and other wildlife in the area. Our expert guide will point out some of the fascinating fauna and flora of the region, including amphibians and reptiles.
 
Back at the hotel around 10:00 PM, we will rest up and prepare for the next day's excursion.
Day 2: Takou Nr. - Ho Chi Minh
Morning: After breakfast, we will start the day with a herping excursion through Takou's open forests, where we will search for herps and other wildlife that are active in the morning. We will explore different habitats, including streams, ponds, and forested areas, in search of some of Takou's unique and rare species of amphibians and reptiles.
 
After the morning excursion, we will return to the hotel for lunch before driving back to Ho Chi Minh City. Along the way, we will make several stops at different spots known for their diverse herp populations, giving you the opportunity to explore and learn more about the fascinating world of amphibians and reptiles.
 
The tour will conclude around 6:00 PM in Ho Chi Minh City, where our guide will drop you off at your hotel or the preferred location.
