Why birding in Takou National Reserve

Before taking birding in Takou National Reserve which is located 30 km southeast of Phan Thiet City, it takes one hour drive from Mui Ne, and it has its own special magic. Hike up the mountain or take the gondola through the beautiful tropical rainforest full of birds and wildlife to the Mountain Pagoda at the peak.

Ta Kou Nature Reserve preserves one of the largest remaining coastal forests in this area of Vietnam including an 11,866ha core zone dominated by the 697m high and 1,104ha large Takou Mountain and is critical for biodiversity conservation.
The biodiversity surveys within the nature reserve have confirmed the presence of six primate species including two endangered leaf monkeys, three macaques, and a loris.
The presence of Trachypithecus margarita (the Annamese silvered langur) and Pygathrix nigripes (the black-shanked douc) is of popular interest representing a southeasternmost range extension for both species.
